Silent Auction
Bidding:
Your purchases are made by bidding for an item and being the successful bidder. Place your bid for the items
that you fall in love with by simply writing your bidding number (located in your dinner auction program) and the
price you are prepared to pay on the bid form for that item. You will want to check back frequently to ensure that
someone else has not outbid you. Each item has a starting bid price and an increment. If you have been outbid,
place another bid that is larger than the last price plus increment. For example, if an item has a starting bid of $15
with a $5 increment, you may open the bidding at $15 and the next bid will need to be at least $20 ($15 last bid plus
the $5 increment).
As the evening progresses, the bidding for the auction items will begin to close. The closing times are all predetermined
and grouped by table. Announcements will be made prior to the closing of each group. Be sure to write in your very best
offer to avoid disappointment! All your successful bids will be recorded and one payment is made at the conclusion of the evening.
Payment:
You may pay for items purchased at the silent auction using cash, check, or credit card. If paying by check,
please make your check payable to THE EINSTEIN ACADEMY.
Getting Involved
We are working hard to make this year's dinner auction a huge success. There are lots of ways that you can get involved with
the most anticipated event on The Einstein Academy calendar. If you would like more information about the dinner auction and how
you can help us make it a success, contact us.
Donate an item or service
The success of the dinner auction is due, in large part, to the wonderful donations of items and services
to the auction. Since The Einstein Academy is a not-for-profit organization, all items donated are considered
tax deductible by the Internal Revenue Service and each donor will receive an acknowledgement letter by January 2011
for tax purposes.
We welcome donations of all types. In the past we have received donations for free haircuts for one year, computer
maintenance services, vacation homes, Frequent Flyer miles, hotel stays, car wash & repair services, gift cards,
homemade goodies from the kitchen, business services (tax preparation, legal, etc.), dinner getaways, cruises, and
many more wonderful items.
Become a sponsor or underwriter
Each year our sponsors have generously contributed to the success of the dinner auction by underwriting the
cost of printing, the rental of the facilities, and other dinner auction expenses. These donations are 100%
tax deductible. For your generous support, underwriters will receive a full page advertisement in the dinner auction
catalog, priority seating at the dinner, and an acknowledgment in the auction catalog and this web site.
Place an advertisement in our program
Our program sponsors are an important part of our dinner auction. The advertisements in our program are
very affordable and show our guests and visitors to our website that our sponsors are committed to quality
education for academically talented students. Advertisements are not limited to businesses. Many of our
families take out advertisements to show their support of the school and its students. Congratulate your
student on a terrific year or express your thanks to your child's teacher.
Advertisements are available in many sizes from as small as the size of a business card up to a full page
advertisement. If you would like to learn more about advertising in the catalog or to place an advertisement,
please contact the dinner auction advertising coordinator
for more information.
Volunteer
We are always in need of willing volunteers to help ensure that our event runs smoothly. If you are able to
assist the dinner auction in any way, please contact the dinner auction volunteer coordinator.
Attend the dinner auction
We'd love to have you join us on the night of the dinner auction. It is an evening filled with fun, excitement, good food,
and good company. A common misconception is that the dinner auction is only for people with lots of money. Most of our guests
are parents and friends of Einstein students who are well-aware of the financial sacrifices it takes to send a
student to The Einstein Academy. They attend the dinner auction because it is a wonderful night
out in support of an organization that they believe in. If you can afford to bid, that's great. Most items open for bid
for less than $50 and many of our bidders take home some great bargins. However, if you choose not to bid, we're simply glad you
joined us for the evening.
